Material comparison

Fiberglass sleeving vs. heat-shrink tubing.

Both insulate—but they install, move and seal differently.

Choose around assembly behavior.

Fiberglass sleeving slides over a lead and remains flexible; heat-shrink recovers around a substrate and can support strain relief or sealing. Temperature, movement, termination geometry and installation equipment determine the better option.

Specification checklist

  • Operating and peak temperature
  • Working voltage and dielectric requirement
  • Inner diameter, tolerance and wall construction
  • Movement, abrasion and chemical exposure
  • Required standards, color, length and quantity
Final values, certification scope, MOQ and lead time must be confirmed against the selected FRT product code.
